Say Hi - Love Love Love

a week in songs

so i made this (last) week’s playlist before i flew out of LA, but then the whole cross-country flight after a bitch and a half of a semester meant….i landed, i ate dinner with my family, and then i slept.  for approximately 34 hours straight.  and then i forgot to post it.  shame and dishonor.

or, there would be, if these playlists had any meaning beyond “yesi can keep this up for more than a year of course” in my own head…

Say Hi To Your Mom

Say Hi To Your Mom - Oboes Bleat and Triangles Tink

this truth serum is faulty/ i got it because she said i needed to get some things out of my chest

one way to know that your undergraduate education and hours of writing workshops have completely warped your way of thinking: you spend fifteen minutes, on a whim, dissecting the difference between the possible meanings of getting something “out of” your chest as opposed to “off of” it.

Day 303 - A song about growing up

The Weepies - Can’t Go Back Now

i have this vivid memory of the last two weeks of my last semester of college, staying up until three am every morning working on my thesis because i’d left it to the last minute, and for some reason listening to nothing but the weepies, tegan and sara, elastica, and say hi to your mom.

(it was actually kind of two of the best weeks of my life, looking back.)

Say Hi

sometimes the slow simmer turns into a boil

i’m afraid it’s the only way this can end.

i like it when artists reference shakespeare.
